Mark Sorrey

Mark Sorrey is the founder and President of International Machine Transport (IMT). He is responsible for managing, overseeing operations and business development for the organization. Prior to starting International Machine Transport, he worked as a trucker, driving for 10 years. He also worked indoors at various trucking companies in operations and sales roles for 6 years. In 1991 Mark officially established International Machine Transport because of the immense opportunities that the aerospace and pulp & paper industries held.


Mark’s greatest strengths are his optimism, honesty and dedication. He thrives on capturing opportunities; especially those that expand the companies reach. International Machine Transport USA was established in 2011. Marks current goals consist are to continue the growth and expansion of the IMT brand in the North American aerospace industry.


Mark also does voluntary work at the Union Gospel Mission. This is a faith based relief organization. He is an active member and tries to volunteer as much as he can.


Under the leadership of Mark, IMT has had a continuous growth of approximately 20% per annum. The 17th annual Business Excellence Awards recently awarded IMT with the Established Business of the Year award.


Mark was introduced and chose the trucking industry through his father.

Mark lives in Abbotsford with his wife and his pet dog. In his free time Mark likes to read, golf and spend time with his family.

David Lush

David Lush is the Operations Manager for International Machine Transport. He is responsible for managing Driver/Owner Operator HR & Management, Truck and Trailer Management, Safety & Operations and Operations Budget Management. In addition, he is actively involved in coordinating and supplying the necessary requirements and expertise for over-dimensional shipments and aerospace projects.


David has over 40 years’ experience in all aspects of the commercial road transportation industry where he has been a driver, owner operator, safety supervisor, operations manager and transport company co-owner. He has multiple credentials and designations in the training/instruction area including: ICBC Class 1,2,3,4,5/7 with theory for classroom; ICBC Class 1 Driver Trainer Instructor; ICBC Airbrake Instructor: CTHRC Certified Instructor; CTHRC Human Resources Essentials Trainer; and he is a Master Trainer with National Resources Canada’s “Smart Driver Program.” He is a graduate of the Klemmer and Associates personal development and leadership training program.


David is devoted to further education and is continually adding to his professional qualifications within the industry as well as in the area of personal development.


David’s hobbies include kayaking, cycling, golf, skiing, and gardening. David lives in Chilliwack, B.C. with his wife Cynthia and their sheltie, Blue.

Cindy Franklin

Cindy Franklin manages the Finance Department at International Machine Transport. Her duties include overseeing all aspects of accounting and licensing. Prior to this she held a similar role for a Hazardous Waste carrier. She is noted for her diligence in all realms of office management. Her expertise in permits and licensing skill was honed in her employment with the Ministry of Transportation and Highways in the earlier years of her career.


Cindy’s greatest strengths include dedication, commitment and forward thinking. She overcomes challenges with perseverance, never stopping short of excellence. Her most recent project involved upgrading IMT’s accounting program to current industry standards. This enhanced program will greatly improve efficiencies not only in Finance and Accounting but Sales & Operations as well.


Without a certificate to show for it – she has enhanced lives by offering her trained lifestyle photography packages, home decorating services and tailoring skills.


Cindy and her husband live in Aldergrove, they have two grown daughters. Cindy and her husband are looking forward to many exciting travel adventures in their future.

Elaine Cornish

Elaine Cornish is the Administrative Assistant at International Machine Transport. Her duties include reception, manifesting, and arranging customs clearance. Prior to joining International Machine Transport, she worked at VEET Industries (a division of Norco Products) as a receptionist and later a production scheduler. Elaine has been recognized for her ten years of dedication to IMT.


Elaine’s greatest strengths are her honesty, and dedication. She overcomes challenges with persistence and perseverance. Her most recent project for International Machine Transport was working with Standard Aero to arrange for CSA approved shipments. This resulted in IMT being able to transport shipments for Standard Aero more efficiently and with much less hassle.


Elaine has completed several courses including, ASL Prep Levels 1 and 2, Basics of Supply Chain Management and also completed 2 courses in Microsoft Excel at the University of the Fraser Valley. She lives Abbotsford, BC. In her free time she is an avid reader, gamer and movie fan. She enjoys spending time with her family and watching her sister race at Mission Raceway!

Shaun Haagen

Shaun is the Marketing Manager for International Machine Transport, his responsibilities include the development and execution of all marketing materials and campaigns, along with the development of new key accounts. In addition, Shaun is responsible for the set-up and maintenance of the company’s CRM system and how it relates to sales and profitability.


Shaun’s greatest strengths are his ability to manage multiple priorities in an efficient manner, along with creative writing for digital and print media. His most recent projects for IMT include the development and management of the new company website, along with the coordination of a recent PR opportunity in NYC.


Shaun studied Business Administration, Communication and Marketing in university, leveraging real-world experience to continue his growth in the marketing industry. His previous position was the Marketing Manager for a business consultant/M&A firm where he was heavily involved in deal structuring, negotiations and developing market growth strategies for clients across a wide variety of industries.


In his free time, Shaun can be found outside staying active through a variety of sports.

Carla Cysne

Carla Cysne is the Accounting Assistant for International Machine Transport. She is responsible for assisting the Finance Manager with A/P, A/R and expenses. Carla’s best strengths are loyalty, dedication, determination to achieve her goals and she also loves new challenges.


In addition to bringing a wealth of international business experience to IMT, Carla also bilingual and extremely detail oriented.


Carla graduated from Law in Brazil but when she moved to Canada in 2009 she fell in love with accounting and decided to change fields. She graduated from an accounting program at the University of British Columbia and she is now at level 3 of her CGA program. Carla has practiced accounting for both public and private entities in North America and abroad.


In her free time she likes to watch a good movie, mingle with friends and host parties with her husband. She also enjoys the beautiful countryside of Canada and has a dream of one day owning a horse arena and farm.


Greg Zwaagstra (also known as “swaggy” or simply “swag”) is the new dispatcher for International Machine Transport. His responsibilities include the management and distribution of the entire fleet, liaising with clients and ensuring key deadlines are met.

Greg brings a wealth of experience to IMT with over 18 years in the trucking industry. He started unloading trailers with a pallet jack and worked his way up to operations and eventually dispatching. Greg has over 5 years’ of experience in extremely stressful dispatch environments managing large transport fleets.

As dispatching is a stressful job, Greg likes to relax by playing the bass or singing in his off time. In a previous life Greg was a professional musician and toured with several bands. Spending time with his wife, camping and even skydiving are all passions of IMT’s newest dispatcher.

Greg has made a positive impact at IMT by using an out-of-the-box-thinking approach to managing the fleet. His greatest strengths are an attention to detail, time management and organization, all key aspects needed of a dispatcher.
